The Renewal Programme is a community development organisation, founded in 1971 on Christian principles.
The Chief Executive Officer Rev. Canon Ann Easter ensures that the Renewal Programme is sensitive to the changing needs of the community, and provides a clear direction in developing its mission and strategy.
This is achieved by:
- representing the Programme to the wider community by the provision of information, advice and consultancy to interested bodies,
- developing new projects and initiatives in co-operation with local agencies,
- overseeing fundraising activities,
- supervising the activities of the Project Directors and reporting to the Board of Management.
We achieve our goals by operating through the following projects:
Hartley Centre
Provides community services, youth work and training to the
local community in East Ham.
Newham Carers Network (NCN)
Provides information, advice and support for carers looking after family, partners or friends in need of help because they are ill, frail or have a disability. The help they provide is unpaid.
Refugee and Migrant Project (RAMP)
Provides advocacy and crisis support for refugees and
asylum seekers from all parts of the world.
The Learning Centre
Provides training in Information Technology and Business
Administration with English Language support and childcare.
Step Up
Provides hostel accommodation for 16 to 25 year olds with medium support needs, and has mother and baby units.
Turnaround
Provides a night shelter and a day centre for rough sleepers.
Corporate Services
Provides administrative and accounting support to the Board of Management and Project Directors, and manages the Harold Road facilities.
