At this time of great worry and uncertainty for us all, we sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are in good health.

We can assure you that The Renewal Programme is taking the Coronavirus outbreak seriously and as a team we are reviewing our response regularly in line with government guidelines. We are doing all we can to protect our service users, volunteers, staff and the public.

UPDATE 26TH March: Our food bank doors will now be open to all Newham residents in crisis. We have expanded the criteria for accessing food parcels, now all families struggling to afford food are eligible for support.

As a charity that exists to protect and care for the people of Newham, we are doing all we can to continue our work through this difficult time. Following government guidelines, and ensuring everyone’s safety where possible, our doors remain open to the local community who are most in need.

395 High Street North is closed, however our hostels will remain open along with the essential RAMP food bank service. Food parcels will be increased to two weeks of supplies instead of one.

Emergency Relief:

We have partnered with The Magpie Project, Bonny Downs Community Association, West Silvertown Foundation and Alternatives Trust to coordinate an emergency relief response to support our community. We are accepting donations from the public, which will then be sorted and packed by volunteers and delivered to individuals who have been identified as vulnerable and self-isolating across Newham.

If you would like to help, you can donate online (click here)

Alternatively, you can purchase non-perishable foods, large size nappies, sanitary towels, soap, bleach, Milton tablets, washing up liquid, washing powder, fresh fruit & vegetables and drop them off to a hub below. We also need PAYG phones for our volunteers to call people with support.

We ask that those seeking support to consider if there are other alternatives (e.g. family members, online delivery) before asking us for support as we would like to prioritise those that really need this service like people without access to public funds, living in shared accommodation, on low income, single parents etc.

In this time of crisis, we know our neighbours need us more than ever, especially those who are at high risk. We are grateful for our staff, volunteers and partners who are making this emergency response possible.
