We are part of the Renewal Programme which is a registered charity with over 45 years’ experience working with local projects in Newham. We are based in Manor Park in East London which has good public transport links.
Newham Carers Network provides advocacy, advice, information and support to carers from the age of 5 upwards in the London Borough of Newham. Our services include the following: - Carers Support, Carers Health and Wellbeing, and Carers Engagement and Co-production.
The early identification of carers not known to services, enabling and empowering them to access support is our main priority. We strive to provide support to all carers to ensure that they receive services they are entitled to as well as being assessed in their own right and that those carers are a part decision-making making process in Newham.
Holistic family working: taking the whole family into account including their individual and collective needs. We aim to work cooperatively carry out working practices to increase communication and collaboration with other agencies and develop strong working links across departments and agencies.
(NCN) has extended its support service to include young carers.
Provides low level emotional and practical support to all unpaid carers who either live in the borough or care for an individual living here.
Examples of support include:
(e.g. access to the council’s Community Neighbourhood activities, advice with benefit applications, employment and a referral for a carers assessment)
