Newham Carers Network provides advocacy, advice information and support to support carers in the London Borough of Newham. We have a staff team of eight, 4 with personal experience of caring. We are very enthusiastic and passionate about carers’ issues. We have a wide range of experience and skills to support carers from a very diverse local community. This is also representative of our volunteers.
The early identification of carers not known to services and enabling them to access support is our main priority. We strive to provide support to all carers and their families to ensure that they receive all the services they are entitled to as well as being assessed in their own right and that those carers are a part decision-making making process in Newham.
The contribution of carers to the design of all our services is very important.
We are based in Manor Park in East London which has good public transport links. We also carry out outreach work in and around the borough. We are part of the Renewal Programme which is a registered charity with over 45 years’ experience working with local projects in Newham.
Currently, we run the following services: - The Adult Carers support service, a Carers Health and Wellbeing Service and Carers Engagement and Co-production service.
We aim to empower carers’ to become resilient and take control of their lives and become active citizens who exercise their rights and responsibilities by guiding them through the maze of information and service provision. To achieve this, we provide advocacy, advice and relevant and up to date information on the needs of carers.
