We are recruiting a Trustee Trustee Vacancy We are currently recruiting for our Trustee Board. We are looking for trustees with a commitment to working with people living in the London Borough of Newham who are facing difficulties (for example, relating to migration, housing, education, being a carer) and helping them get their lives back on track. The range of our work is set out on our website. We make a REAL difference in people’s lives. We particularly welcome applicants who live or work in and around Newham, but equally welcome applications from people unconnected to the borough but who are willing to explore this vibrant part of London. We are keen for our trustee board to reflect the diverse community we serve. We are particularly looking for trustees who bring skills in the areas of: Property management and housing finance marketing digital and website procurement service-user involvement Human Resources and having a strong people-focus. However, the most important thing is the commitment to our work. We aim to have around ten Trustees on our Board and ask trustees to commit to attending 10 Board meetings a year (evenings). There is also the option of joining our finance sub-committee. Trustees are expected to make occasional visits to our activities so they can see first hand the work of the charity and meet the people we support, our staff and volunteers. Our Board meetings are friendly and supportive, yet we are aware of how important our work is to the people we help. Trustees are asked to serve a 3-year term. New trustees are given a full induction which covers an introduction to the charity, the responsibilities of being a trustee and any other training needed to help the trustee carry out their role effectively. The role is unpaid but reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed.
