The Cargo Collective
Providing fresh foods for the Newham community and lowering carbon emissions
We distribute surplus food around Newham that would otherwise go to waste.
Our innovative project addresses food poverty in Newham by harnessing the power of the community in an environmentally friendly way. We tackle one of the most pressing issues in our area while combating food waste and environmental pollution.
Partnerships 🤝🏾
We partner with local businesses who kindly donate surplus food, which would otherwise go to waste.
Volunteer-led 🌱
Our volunteers collect the food using eco-friendly cargo bikes, which helps to reduce our carbon footprint.
Redistribution 📦
The food is then transported to our Community Pantry and to Newham Food Banks, where it feeds hundreds of people every week.
