Newham Carers Network (part of The Renewal Programme) have been awarded £264,000 by The National Lottery Community Fund for a Carers Empowerment through Health Programme over 3 years. The Renewal Programme are a charity based in Newham who work with the local community and beyond to transform and inspire lives through advocacy, education, temporary accommodation and a wide range of positive activities. Newham Carers Network provides advocacy, advice, information and support to carers from the age of 5 and upwards in the London Borough of Newham. This includes low level emotional and practical support. With the fund Carers will be empowered and enabled to deliver workshops to other carers to empower them in their caring role.

Carers known to the service will be contacted individually or via support groups. Carers will also be identified though outreach sessions around the borough. Carers are referred from Social Care and GP Practices.
