Providing support and advice to young carers in Newham through weekly sessions, forums, events and activities
What is this project?
This project provides support to young carers across the borough of Newham. We offer free and confidential advice, information, activities and support to unpaid carers living or caring for someone in Newham.
Who can access, and how?
If you are a young person ages 5-17 years and you help care for someone because of disability, illness, or drug and alcohol misuse, you can access this service.

When does this project run?
We run weekly Young Carer support sessions every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at East Ham Library.
We also run youth forums, events, and trips and activities!

Who is a Young Carer?
You are a young carer if:
You help look after a family member such as a sibling
Help them with daily tasks such as getting dressed or getting out of bed
Help with getting medicine or going with them to the doctors or hospital
Help with housework, shopping, or making meals`
Help them speak with or translate to others
Managing the family budget
