There are usually many ways that volunteers can get involved in The Renewal Programme, but as we are living in unusual times due to COVID-19 we especially need volunteers to help us run our new community support and advice line - Chat Newham. You can feel you make a difference by helping other people and gain new skills and confidence at the same time.

We rely on the generosity and support of local people to help us carry on our work. With your help we can support even more people to positively change their lives.

Chat Newham is a telephone support service launched to support people affected by the COVID-19 crisis in Newham. This call service is for anyone who either wants to know about resources or would like a chat. They are likely to be lonely, bored, anxious, no one to talk to, or grieving, or finding it hard living in a confined space.

A chat call can make all the difference to someone who is lonely at this time. Telephone support is a positive step to engage with people who may have little or no contact with others, a consequence of self-isolating may lead to issues with confidence, self-esteem, and loneliness. This support you will be giving is a one off phone conversation.  This support you will be giving is a one off phone conversation.
